Buckhorn Warehouse Bloomsburg, PA

Project Background

The Buckhorn Warehouse is a 552,000 SF distribution center for restaurant supplies and equipment. The floor experienced an expansion of concrete slab. Due to this slab expansion, a joint rebuild was required at a few locations in the facility. This disruption in the concrete slab most likely occurred as a result of seasonal changes.

The Witmer Group’s Step by Step Process:

  1. Approximately 1,000 LF of joint rebuild using Metzger McGuire products.
  2. Saw cuts were installed behind the deteriorated area to eliminate the spall, the remaining concrete was removed, and Metzger McGuire Armor-Hard Mortar was installed in the cleaned joint.
  3. After cure, the repair mortar was ground flush with the floor.
  4. A new saw cut joint was installed through repair material.
  5. The saw cut joint was overfilled and then filled with Metzger McGuire MM-80P.
  6. The overfilled joints were shaved off flush with the concrete, and sealer was applied over the repair area.
