Project Background

Martins Famous Pastry Shoppe is a well-known bakery specializing in high-quality bread and rolls, recognized for its commitment to taste and tradition. With a reputation built on excellence, it was essential to ensure their facility was protected from water infiltration to maintain the integrity of their operations.

The Witmer Group’s Waterproofing division successfully completed a comprehensive waterproofing project at Martins Famous Pastry Shoppe. The scope of work included sealing critical joints, connections, and structural elements to ensure long-term protection against moisture damage. Our team employed industry-best practices and high-quality sealants to enhance the durability of the structure.

Scope of Work

Tilt-Up Panel Joints

• Sealed exterior side tilt-up panel joints (3/4″ bead application).
• Sealed interior side tilt-up panel joints (3/4″ bead application).

Interior Panels

• Waterproofed both sides of interior panels with a 3/4″ joint sealant application.

Structural Joint Sealing

• Concrete columns to beams joints sealed.
• Tilt panels to concrete columns joints sealed.
• Concrete beam to wall joints sealed.
• Concrete beam to beam joints sealed.
• Concrete beam to precast plank joints at mezzanine and roof sealed.

Silicone Span Beam & Concrete Column Sealing

• Applied 3″ and 5″ silicone span sealant with 1/2″ bead of 864 on both sides of joints.
• Prepped joints with wire brushing before sealant application.
• 6″ silicone span beam to exterior wall sealed.
• 3″ and 5″ silicone span concrete columns to exterior walls sealed with vertical joint application.

Precast Plank Sealing

• Sealed precast plank-to-precast plank joints on the underside of the concrete roof.
• Applied waterproofing to precast plank connections at mezzanine undersides.

Frames & Expansion Joints

• Sealed both sides of hinged door frames.
• Sealed both sides of window frames.
• Applied 3″ expansion joint sealant at middle of East Elevation (exterior and possibly interior) and at CL G and H.

Concrete Paving & Precast Stairs

• Sealed concrete paving to building connections.
• Applied waterproofing to concrete paving joints, spaced at 15′ OC.
• Sealed precast stairs (A, B, and D) to tilt-up panels.
