Project Background

This national defense contractor was converting their old plating room into a functional space for warehouse and small parts assembly. But the existing floor was a cornucopia of acid brick, thinset mortar, epoxy mortar, and few other substrates. Witmer Coatings was hired to value engineer this project, and assess what surfaces could be salvaged, and what needed removed. Our expert installers infilled voids with epoxy mortar. Then installed a self-leveling urethane cement, before installing the final finished.

Scope of Work

• Remove thinset with PCD blades
• Diamond grind remaining acid brick
• Bushhammer sound epoxy mortar
• Infill voids with epoxy mortar
• Resurface floor with ¼” urethane cement
• Install 16mils of 100% solid epoxy
• Install 3mils of aliphatic urethane in satin finish
