The Witmer Group was contacted by Wohlsen Construction in the summer of 2013, and offered the opportunity to perform a complete evaluation of the Mary J. Drexel Home, a historical site in Bala Cynwyd, PA. Wohlsen felt that Witmer Restoration would be the right fit for this prestigious project. Upon evaluation, it was discovered that with limited maintenance and preservation of the home over the last thirty years, the mansion was now behind the deterioration curve. The original ornamental and facial features revealed failures and deterioration to multiple degrees. Repointing, cleaning, and restoration of the stucco coating system and facial features would be required. The Witmer Group contributed all efforts in determining the exact repair methods required to meet the Secretary of the Interior’s standards for rehabilitation of historical buildings. Owner’s Representative, David DeLuca was very impressed with our team’s approach and passion. Additionally, he was thankful for the great detail we provided, and our team’s comprehension of all repair procedures required for this exemplary project.
