Masonry Restoration - The Atlas Building
Welcome to the Atlas—a visionary mixed-use project connecting uptown and Midtown Harrisburg and changing the face of the city’s northern gateway. Historically a building that housed numerous organizations dedicated to improving lives, the revitalized building will be a community anchor in an area that is underserved by grocery and other retail uses, as well as a creative office space where entrepreneurs can launch their dream projects.
Through the eyes of a restoration craftsman: vision, history, unique artistry. The photos below represent the restoration cycle and behind-the-scenes snapshots our team has conducted on-site. You can see through wall openings, internal stressors, the restoration process, and the significant steps to completion that will bring this building back to its original structural blueprint. This requires a highly developed understanding of various masonry materials and best practices. The restoration team is working on transforming this structure into what will serve as a community milestone for years to come.
The vision of the Atlas is to serve as a hub of economic and cultural resources for a community that has lacked them for far too long, and as a bridge that will connect the Uptown and Midtown neighborhoods of Harrisburg for the mutual benefit of both–creating outstanding retail and office opportunities for businesses who want to make their mark in a community on the rise.
