During national safety stand-down week, we are sharing fall protection training and resources we conduct throughout the year on our social media to extend fall protection education and the initiative to raise awareness and lower the risk of falls.
Day 2 Highlight – Fall Protection Guest Speakers, The Youngstroms
The Witmer Group conducts fall protection training at the annual company meeting every year. During this time, employees have the opportunity to learn and hear from individuals who dedicate their lives to sharing their message about the importance of fall protection.
Today we are highlighting Youngstrom Safety.
Laurel Youngstrom and Russ Youngsrom travel nationwide, sharing their story with audiences from all industries. Their message is that a split-second decision can change not only a worker’s life but also the lives of their families forever. Russ shares his story of when he fell off a scaffolding and severed his spinal cord, leaving him paralyzed. He then explains his habits and the circumstances that led up to his accident twenty-seven years ago, the accident itself, and the physical and emotional consequences of his split-second decision.
Laurel and Russ moved our company with a strong message on fall protection, family, teamwork, and safety. They dedicate their lives to sharing this message stating, “We know that given the opportunity to listen to our story, at least one person in the audience will stop and think before they make a choice, they can never take back.”
