The masonry restoration work involved various tasks, such as removing existing joints in the cornice stone and repointing brick veneer.
Segmented joint material between each coping stone was removed and replaced with new backer rod and silicone sealant. Stainless steel dowels were installed in an epoxy bed to create a physical and bonding connection with the repair material and the existing stone. A deeply penetrating and breathable water repellant was applied to all brick veneers, and all coping stones were removed, cleaned, and reinstalled. The parapet wall was filled, and a membrane flashing was installed. Lastly, the brickwork was washed down with a low-strength masonry detergent.
