Carma Industrial Coatings

Project Background

After completing an evaluation with assistance from Metzger McGuire of the interior floor slab at Carma Industrial Coatings, a plan of repairs and improvements was developed by the Witmer Group team. The work was focused mainly on the portion of the floor slab that was most recently constructed, approximately 19,200 SF. In addition, some repair work was also included at the original portion of the building, focused at the main travel aisles. These improvements provide a maintenance investment that allows for a more effective work environment.

The work included the following items:

• Existing floor joint repair – Removed the existing filler and installed new sand modified MM-80 joint filler
• Cracks Repair – Route out cracks and filled with MM-80 Epoxy joint filler
• Spall Repair – Removed the deteriorated concrete and patched with Armor Hard Rigid Epoxy Mortar
• Joint Stabilization – injected high density polyurethane foam for the correction of deflecting concrete slabs
• Joint Rebuild – New to existing slab transition – Removed deteriorated concrete and filled repair area with Armor Hard Mortar
