Northwest & Northeast Middle Schools Reading, PA BACK

Project Background

Reading School District’s Northwest Middle and Northeast Middle School projects were large scale restorations of two fully occupied facilities in Reading, PA. The work included complete parapet coping removal and replacement, installation of new supporting steel, stainless steel flashings, limestone patching and unit replacement, multi-wythe reconstruction, as well as the replacement of sealants, 100% cleaning of the exteriors and the installation of special coatings and water repellants.

The Witmer Group followed strict procedures for access and safety and coordinated quick changes in operations on a daily basis as both schools remained open during the entirety of the work. At no time were we permitted to interact or communicate in any manner with the students and faculty around us. Our staff maintained the highest level of jobsite organization and professionalism under extreme scrutiny. Following the completion of the project, we were applauded for our performance by all involved parties.
