Project Background
The Witmer Group provided masonry and joint sealant services for the new Bowers Center for Sports, Fitness and Well-being at Elizabethtown College.
The masonry scope of work consisted of:
- CMU Foundations
- Stair Towers
- Elevator Towers
- Veneer
The masonry project consisted of:
- 47,000 CMU
- 61,300 Norman Brick
- 550 Pieces of Cast Stone
- Granite Stair Treads
The scope of work for joint sealants included approximately 15,300 linear feet of work for a total of nearly 3 miles.
The sealant work consisted of:
- Firestopping
- Expansion Joints
- Joint Sealants- joints in masonry, EIFS to dissimilar materials, metal panels to dissimilar materials, floor joints, sidewalks, and sanitary caulking
The team worked hard to meet schedule times, productivity and quality work. They worked together to complete a beautiful finished project with superior craftsmanship.
The Bowers Center for Sports, Fitness and Well-being will provide additional opportunities for college health promotion. As well as, offering a community-based environment with a living room, fitness center, fitness room, wellness program area, a fire pit and outside seating.
