The Witmer Group was awarded an exclusive masonry contract with The Pennsylvania College of Technology to investigate and complete repairs on several campus buildings. Following the invasive inspection of the ATHS building’s cavity walls, serious deficiencies were found at structural steel relief irons, window flashings, and weather barrier systems.
The Witmer Group was contracted to replace roof coping, remove all brick masonry from the second-floor window heads to the roof level, repair and replace CMU backup, remove brick and install flashing above and below all windows and openings, wash the entire façade, cut in new control joints, correct improperly installed insulation and flashing conditions. The project was completed under an extremely aggressive schedule, while accommodating frequent daily changes and maintaining a 100% operational facility. This project required our team to perform to a high degree of difficulty with aggressive scheduling and anticipated high level of safety and awareness.
